Hello!
I'm Meridith.
"My name is Meridith Strout and I write children’s books that encourage hands-on learning through music, promote a love for reading and teach children the importance of including others. Dive into a world of musical fun as you make new friends along the way."

I wanted to write a book that teaches children the importance of including others but also wanted to incorporate a hands-on, multi-sensory component.
The book comes to life as the children can play, listen, and feel the sounds of the instruments that are introduced in the book.

This book was written to provide parents and educators an opportunity to have a fun interactive experience with their children and encourage a love for books and reading. This book will teach children as well as the reader the importance of including others and how making new friends can be fun.

This book is a multi-sensory book designed for young readers. It teaches students the importance of including others in an educational yet fun hands on learning experience.
The books can be purchased separately or with the musical instrument kit. The kit includes 5 different percussion instruments that the students can use as they are reading the book.

Author Visits & Collaborations
As a former elementary school educator, Meridith loves classroom read-a-louds and is very interactive and animated.
She would love to visit your school, classroom, or home school communities and engage students in a hands-on experience with her book while also conveying the message of inclusion. This would be a great opportunity for music educators and a great introduction to the different percussion instruments that are feathered in the book (tambourine, maracas, wood sounder, chime bar and hand bells).
